What is Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression?

Non-Surgical Spinal decompression is a highly effective, non-invasive, non-surgical,  pain-free, FDA cleared alternative to back and neck surgery.

This non-surgical procedure was developed for the treatment of the following conditions:

  • disc herniation
  • a bulging disc
  • degenerative disc disease
  • posterior facet syndrome.
  • back or neck pain
  • numbness
  • tingling
  • sciatica

How does it work?

Spinal  Decompression relieves pressure that builds up on the discs and nerves. Pain is relieved by drawing the herniated area of a disc  back into place.

This is achieved by causing  negative intra-discal (within the disc) pressure, essentially creating a vacuum to draw the bulging and herniated disc material back into the disc space and relieve pressure.

In addition to drawing the herniated disc back into place, decompression strengthens the ligament bands that hold the disc material in place to heal them and prevent any future recurrences. Bulging and herniation often stretches or tears ligament bands.

How long does it take?

In most cases the healing process requires 20 visits that last 20 minutes each.  Many patients see results after the first few visits.

A staggering 70% of all back surgeries end in failure!

With a majority of the population experiencing back and neck pain at least once in their lifetime, neck pain and lower back pain are two of the most common ailments that healthcare providers face today. Until now, physicians have had limited resources for successful treatment. Because of the low success rate of surgery, scientists, doctors and engineers have together used innovative technology to successfully design this new alternative to back surgery.

Are you a candidate for Spinal Decompression?

It is important to first decide whether you are a candidate for Spinal Decompression.  We have a detailed process for determining if this treatment is right for you.

To determine if decompression treatment is for you, our physicians will:

  • Conduct a full history of the current complaint
  • Review  pertinent past or current social history
  • Consider your family health history
  • Assess any “body systems” that could be involved
  • Conduct a physical exam
  • Determine the need for any special tests, x-rays or labs

If you are a Candidate

If it is determined that you are a Spinal Decompression candidate and you choose treatment,  you will begin a series of treatments on the Dynatronics T4 decompression system.  These treatments are relaxing and pain-free.  They consist of lying on a cushioned table with head and legs raised or lowered for your comfort.  For your back, a padded belt is placed around your waist; for your neck, your head is placed on a head rest.  The machine settings are  custom adjusted for your needs and you can relax while the machine does all the work.

We have undergone expert training in the delivery of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression and have dedicated a large portion of our practice to the relief of severe and chronic low back and neck pain.

Testimonial

"I have had a severe pain from a buldging disc and sciatica for 3 years.  After 2 decompression treatments I was able to stop taking my daily Vicodin.  This is a 'miracle' therapy for me."
